Abstract

The Qadisiyah war is one of the most important battles between Sassanids and Muslim Arabs; Before the start of the war, very important talks were held between the two sides and messages were exchanged that the analysis and investigation of these conversations can reveal new dimensions of this historical event. The researchers' focus on the events and incidents of the Qadisiya war has caused some other issues, including their negotiations, to receive less attention. Therefore, it is necessary to address this important issue as well.
This research investigates these conversations by using Foucault's truth discourse analysis and descriptive-analytical method; The findings of the present research show that the truth (Parsia) is attributed to the social position of the person more than anything else and the truth-teller (parsiastes) is someone who knows his lineage and has a high social status, like Rostam Farrokhzad, who was a nobleman. On the other hand, Muslim representatives were sent as ambassadors simply because of some desirable features of Islam Therefore, it can be said that according to certain standards, Islam gives the power of truth-telling (parsiastes) to individuals, not their hereditary position. Another thing is that a truth teller (parsiastes) is someone who has independence of thought, but Rostam Farrokhzad's thought is Yazdgerd although the thought of the Muslim representatives was based on Islamic standards.
