The Qaraguzlu clans, a Turkmen tribal federation, settled in the Hamadan region, were regarded as key allies of the Qajar rulers. Their presence across different areas was shaped by natural–geographical factors, security concerns, and Qajar defensive policies. Accordingly, the clans’ deployment in various parts of Iran was closely tied to the scale and intensity of unrest, rebellions, foreign incursions, as well as to their loyalty and valor during battles. This analysis rests on the assumption that the Qaraguzlu presence over time and across diverse geographical scales reflected specific security–border missions and the defensive mechanisms of the Qajars. Therefore, their presence can be interpreted as that of a local tribe with strategic functions in three main domains: border security, internal control, and participation in operations aimed at consolidating sovereignty. Employing a descriptive–analytical method and frequency charts, this study examines the Qaraguzlu contribution to the consolidation of the Qajar government. The findings indicate that southern Iran—particularly Fars Province, with 27 percent of the Qaraguzlu’s military missions—ranked highest among the forefront of military engagements. Moreover, the tribe’s most significant military involvement occurred during 1209–1248 AH, a period marked by foreign invasions and internal unrest.
