The Battle of Banu al-Mustaliq, as one of the influential events in early Islamic history, contained — in addition to its military dimensions — a deep social crisis caused by the provocations of the hypocrisy movement. In the meantime, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was able to manage this crisis intelligently by utilizing strategic measures, divine rationality, and a precise understanding of the social structure of the Islamic society. The present study employs the SWOT analytical model (based on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) to answer the following research question: How did the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) confront and manage this crisis? The findings indicate that the Prophet (PBUH), relying on strengths such as divine legitimacy, his personality‑driven unifying role, and the psychological coherence of his companions, was able to exploit opportunities such as the revelation of verses exposing hypocrisy, the atmosphere of military victory, and the emotional support of some companions. He thereby controlled serious threats such as the outbreak of civil war, weakening of social unity, and public distrust. Also, due to the Prophet's timely actions during the crisis, weaknesses such as the social influence of Abdullah ibn Ubayy and unresolved tribal conflicts were compensated by strategies such as shifting the crisis and avoiding direct confrontation.
