بررسی فناوری‌های نظامی نوین و کاربرد آن‌ها در جنگ داخلی آمریکا (1865-1861م)

چکیده

جنگ داخلی آمریکا جنگی چهارساله از 1861 تا 1865 میان ایالات‌متحده و یازده ایالت جنوبی بود که از اتحادیه جدا شدند و کشورهای کنفدراسیون آمریکا[1] را تشکیل دادند. این پژوهش با روش تحقیق توصیفی – تحلیلی و شیوه گردآوری منابع کتابخانه­ای به دنبال یافتن این پرسش است که چه فناوری‌های نظامی نوینی در طول این جنگ به کار گرفته شدند و کاربرد آن‌ها در جنگ چگونه بوده است؟ مدعای این پژوهش بر این امر استوار است که فناوری نظامی نوین یکی از مهم‌ترین ویژگی‌های جنگ داخلی آمریکا بودند که برای نخستین بار ساخته شدند و نقش مهمی در شکل­دهی به مسیر جنگ ایفا کردند. ایالات شمالی نیز به علت توسعه بیشتر فناوری توانستند مسیر جنگ را به سود خود تغییر دهند. دستاوردهای این پژوهش نشان می‌‌دهد که مسلسل، تفنگ خود‌‌کار، رزم‌‌ناوهای زره‌‌پوش، زیردریایی، راه‌‌آهن، تلگراف و بالون از مهم‌ترین جنگ‌‌افزارها و فناوری‌هایی بودند که در طول جنگ مورداستفاده قرار گرفتند. اگرچه هر دو سوی این نبرد در ساخت جنگ‌‌افزارهای نوین اقداماتی انجام دادند، ایالات شمالی موفق‌‌تر عمل کردند و سلاح‌‌ها و فناوری‌‌های نوین به پیروزی در جنگ به آن‌ها کمک کرد.

American Civil War was a four-year war (1861–65) between the United States and eleven Southern states that seceded from the Union and formed the Confederate States of America. The present research benefits from a descriptive-analytical method. The data were collected through library sources in order to answer the question that “what new military technologies were used during this war and how they were used? The research claims that the new military technology, developed for the first time, was one of the most important features of the American Civil War and played an important role in shaping the course of the war. The Northern states were also able to change the course of the war in their favor due to further development of technology. The results show that machine guns, automatic rifles, armored warships, submarines, railroads, telegraphs, and balloons were among the most important military technologies used during the war. Although both sides took steps to build new weapons of war, the northern states were more successful, and new weapons and technologies helped them win the war.
